If all else fails, try putting some Copper Caot gasket sealer on both sides of the gasket. Just make sure it's the last time your going to pull the head for a while. It will be a pain in the butt to get the head off after the sealent has dried, but it's a full proof way of getting a head gasket to seal and stay sealed.
