I tried starting a tired 7 hp Kohler w/ 1/2" drill a year ago and it would kick so bad it would throw the drill across the shop. I think a big impact would just break something hard to fix or replace. But if you wanted to ad some non-stock parts plus probably a 50+ gal. air tank, some Over-the-road semi's use air starters. They're similar to the elec. the way they mount, spin the engine faster but not near as long. I drove a '79 White RoadBoss II w/ VT-903 cid Cummins for a couple years with one. No block heater or glow plugs. It would pop right off with a little ether most mornings down to 15 to 20 deg. above. Colder than that and I let her run or it was drag the compressor out the next morning.
