It has already been mentioned about well tuned engines starting easily with a hand crank. I totally agree with that. If the antique tractor owner has physical limitations or is an older person it is sometimes difficult to hand crank even well tuned engines. If I'm not mistaken, such was the case with the owner of an F-12 I read about sometime back. He came up with an electric start apparatus that mounted off the PTO. It used Chrysler components.
