This "Joint" should be a slip joint and the remainder of the square shaft should pull out once you get the twisted shaft started out of the end slightly. Check the shaft for being square or about 1/8 inch more in one dimension? They will have one dimension a little larger and cannot/should not go together but one way. This keeps the universal joints aligned. Be careful to repair the shaft in the correct alignment.
