Well, it should go in and come out easier than that. The snug-fitting pin and grease method should have popped it right out, and the new bushing should have tapped in with a little bit of effort.
Maybe the bore in the crankshaft is a little out of spec? Maybe the hole was galled up during a previous service? Unfortunately we will probably never know.
The only thing you could do to fix it is take the crank to a machine shop and have it bored out to spec.
