Living here in Wisconsin, I have to say I`m pretty spoiled as far as access to Red Powers go.The vast majority of Red Powers were within a 10 hour drive or less from my house, not bad at all in my book. I can sympathize with the folks in the New England area wanting a show in their neck of the woods. I attended the 1st Bloomsburg show and was very impressed with the amount of IH tractors and implements. The fact of the matter is it`s very hard to get a show voted in out east when the majority of guys in the IHCC are from the midwest, pretty much the deck is stacked against the clubs out east. I see no problem with what the PA. chapter did having a show of their own out there. I would bet a vast majority of attendees of that show wouldn`t have went to Huron anyway, so I don`t think they were affecting attendance at Huron. I was involved with the 2008 Red Power in Madison and know how much work it is, so I don`t know how feasible it would be to find a club/clubs in New England area to have a Northeast regional show every year or even bi-annually, but maybe there is some merit in it to gauge interest in something like that ? The financial burden of the insurance cost for Red Powers as mentioned earlier is a major hurdle for clubs to address. I`m just throwing this idea out there, so please don`t bite my head off, but after all, we all have a common interest in the love of all things IH and if more people can be involved in it, so much the better in my book.
