I put a Northern kit under the box on my Chevy tonner. I've had it for several years, no complaints. Good quality, easy install, works good, lifts good.

I put the hydraulic unit behind the seat instead of on the frame rail as the instructions suggested, that keeps the delicate stuff out of the snow/sand/salt/slop.

After hoisting a couple of heavy (over)loads, I built a subframe to spread the load at the lift point out some.

Only other modification I would recommend is drilling and tapping the pivot points on the scissors for grease fittings.
