Thanks for all the comments and suggestions to my earlier thread on this problem. Since I had several varying comments about which gear to use I called a retired IH mechanic in the neighborhood for his advice. I was told the reason for using the higher gear is you have less danger of tearing off material from the clutch disc. I blocked the clutch so it would release, put it in 4th gear and rocked it back and forth about 12 or 15 times on the concrete floor before I heard and felt it release. I drove it around for about 30 minutes (mainly because I just like driving the tractor) and parked it back in the tractor building. The tractor now has a custom built clutch block as noted by Janicholson so doubt this will be a recurring problem. Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions to my initial thread, Hal.
