This is what I do on my tractors. Doesn't hurt the strength and the sheet metal covers it. Also on the brace plate I have some that I cut the outside edge of a extra plate. Put bolts through the holes and welded to the plates. Just slide bolts on plate through the radiator holes on the forward side ,install brace bar and nuts. Don't have to worry about holding the bolt heads from turning.
