Someone mentioned if I have 2 nuts on it something is wrong. That is the way it came and worked fine.
Outer bearing has flat spots but not that bad it does spin freely and is always packed good. bearing shop said one would cost $100 and they were not able to find the race by matching the #. I hate to spend a couple hundred dollars to find the internals are bad that is why I ask if I tear it down and take some pics would that help.
You have to tear it down to make an assessment!
Also you should buy a manual for the M&W so you know what you are getting into.
I am telling you again that if the outer bearing is bad it will not stay together! Flat spots probably means the races have spun and damaged the cam unit anyway.
Has the inner bearing been greased? Inner bearing IS NOT available other than used.
Tear it apart and if you are not willing to invest several hundred then remove it!
