Light Switch Failure?

My father and I have a Farmall H. A couple of weeks ago, I needed to shut the lights off to put it into the barn. The lights wouldn't shut off!!! The only time they will shut off is when I shut the tractor off. Sometimes when I start it up, the lights come on, even with the switch off!! Other times when I use it the lights come on!!! Here some facts to help you tractor guys figure out this problem: THE LIGHTS ARE 12 VOLT. BATTERY IS 12 VOLT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS SNOW PLOWING IT WAS SNOWING WHEN IT HAPPENED THE LIGHTS CAN COME ON WITHOUT IT SNOWING LIGHTS SHUT OFF WHEN ENGINE SWITCH IS OFF ALTERNATOR HAS SEPERATE ON AND OFF SWITCH ORIGIONAL LIGHT/BATTERY GAUGE/ ENGINE SWITCH OVAL THING ENGINE HAS 6 VOLT ELECTRIC STARTER If anyone out there can help us out, PLEASE DO SO!!!
