I know hytran is expensive but it's worth it.Hytran has a anti foaming and water dispersing additive in it. If you fix your leaks it would be a onetime expense. I worked 10 years as a IH parts person. I would get calls wanting hydraulic pumps, they tell me they work good till things warm up. Another guy said he almost drove his tractor into a dam. He wanted another pump, said this would be his third pump in as many years.I asked what kind of oil he was using and I told him to change it and put hytran in. He told me next time that that 656 never steered so good. I even tried a Conco oil in a 460, was a waste of oil. Tractors built between 58 and 90's I would stick with hytran or ATF or maybe JD oil. caseman-d
