My 39 M I converted to 12 volt years ago and worked great, I bought an alternator conversion kit from Martins Equipment, great kit with brackets, and coil, at first it charged great now I can"t get it to charge. Yesterday I was pulling a tree limb and when I took the slack out of the chain the bump of starting to pull had it charging again, I checked for loose wires and bad connections but have not found any. I removed the resistor when I put the new kit in because I used the 12 volt coil with the kit. Thanks for all your help!! Binderman
