Also look under PTO,Belt Pulley and input shaft seal locking tabs. My 36 was painted red at one time but under these tabs was a pretty dark gray and also under eng-trans. coupling cover was gray.
I would say don't paint mag except for the magnet paint black. Look close in Photo Archive book and you will see pin stripes on sides of radiator and engine cover. Never seen this on one at a tractor show. It would Probably look good. Post a photo when you finish.
