Thanks for your comments and offers. I think that what I'll do is locate a small brake vacuum tank off a truck behind the battery boxes. This will need some fittings but should replicate the original reservoir and will release some space. There remains the spool valve which is under the fuel tank and also in the way of the pulley. I may be able to move this a little or failing that, relocate in the correct position. A few new hoses should sort it!
