Thank you. I wasn't trying to be smart, only helpful. I guess I shouldn't have responded as I did to T Vet's apparent offer to wager. I took it as a put down. I've only been around tractors for 57 of my 66 years, so I haven't seen it all. I am, however familiar with the gas in the crankcase problem. I do understand it can easily happen from a downdraft carburetor or a ruptured fuel pump diaphram. It is much less likely with a gravity fed updraft carburetor. That's one of the many reasons for the configuration for aircraft engines.
