Fill it, run it and it will level itself out and you will be fine unless it is leaking from another spot. That's what I do.
BTW - Since it's fall, are you putting straight water in or a 50/50 antifreeze solution? Or are you in a part of the country where it doesn't get below freezing in the winter?
