It can and will happen with no warning. I pushed snow one day, got more snow that night, and then had to use a scoop shovel to move enough snow to get the truck out of the garage so I could go and get 2 new tires for the snow-pushin tractor. The side-wall on one of the rear tires split open far enough to not only let the tube out, but then the tube got pinched and ruined it also. Should have put new tires on a few months before that, when it was actually warm enough to be doing such things.
