If its a IH you won't find a part number for the complete assembly on the distributor. Like Owen said there's a code followed by a serial number at the base on most of them. Almost always need the retaining clamps off to see. But since the same unit fits onto a lot of IH tractors the code just tells what tractor or tractors the unit was supposed to be used on. Looks like YT is using the number for the distributor housing and its usually found on the largest round area below the cap on the outside of the unit. By the YT description it looks like you want # 1142 for a 12 volt negative ground if its a IH distributor. Didn't see one listed for a 6 volt neg. ground. Could have missed it didn't look to hard.
