Thanks guys, that is a lot of help. Didn't know International offered gas only engines as early as 1946. That would mean the head and piston combination would be higher compression (than the all fuel version) maybe. There were a blue million Farmall Ms built and parts should be readily available This tractor was probably sold to a farmer north of St Louis Mo. and worked the hills and bluffs west of the Mississippi river. It would have been several miles (and counties) north from cotton country.
