We've got a 706 gas (engine is seized now, going to open it up this winter hopefully). I spent a lot of hours on that tractor. Ours seized from a failed radiator and it overheated before we noticed. Aside from that, it was a great tractor. 3k for a running example is pretty decent. You know all the usual stuff. If it still has the original shifters, the linkage needs to stay adjusted to keep from damaging the linkage. If it's really loose and hard to find gears, it needs to be adjusted.
