According to the parts manual that model uses the pot metal oil filter base. Inside that base are three springs and valves. They originally were fiber flat round valves and did a really lousy job. Could well be your low oil pressure problem. They changed to a metal half ball valve. Much better but still far from great. Also changed the pressure spring to get more pressure. Don't get springs in wrong hole as some have done. Gauge is supposed to be a 45 psi .
