I remember reading somewhere that you can cut the knuckle off of an M and then replace it with a universal steering joint that slides onto each end of the shaft. Am I correct in this? I was looking at the ones on this site to make the change.
Reason I want to make the change is I was out driving the tractor in 5th gear, pulled into my driveway and then as I was pushing it into the garage I grabbed the steering wheel and it just spun. The little key hay wiggled out and if it happened about 5 minutes earlier it could have nee disastrous.
