Shoulda asked the forum before you made that mistake. I learned the hard way too. You see years and years of thick gummy build up is what has kept those axle seals sealed. I think they were leather seals? I rinsed out a farmall M transmission with diesel after draining the case which was full of thick as mud tranny fluid. big mistake. bad idea. it did a great job at unclogging every gum buildup which was actually keeping everything sealed. After that both axle seals leaked. I will never rinse out the tranny with solvent again, I will simply add new hytran and call it good.
