Identify: Threaded stud on Super M hood

Hey guys,
I recently purchased a 1952 Super M, serial no. L 501744. I need some help identifing a threaded stud, that sticks out of the top of the hood when the hood is mounted on the tractor. There is a hole on top of the hood in the "angled up" section, right in front of where the gauges will appear, and this is where the threaded stud will protrude through the hood. I have no idea what is suppose to go on this threaded stud. I have looked in my operators, service, and parts manual, but still have found no clues. Anyone know what is suppose to go here ? Help ???? Thanks guys,
