Need some help with what I believe to be a 2500 industrial. It looks like the industrial version of a 574 or 674. Painted over at least once, covered in grease and grime. If there is still an I.D. plate, one would have to know exactly where to look or it would never be seen. Problem today is no reverse. All else works just as it did yesterday, but when reverse is selected, nothing engages. I see a valve body on left near the clutch/inching pedal, and all that seems be to be working, so the problem must be internal. Guessing tech manuals on these units might be hard to find, but I'm just getting started looking. Was hoping someone out there may have some experience on them, maybe guide me to some test ports, expected pressures, any thoughts, tricks,etc.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
