My 1955 IH 300U has very annoying steering slop. The worst is when backing up. Regardless of which direction the tires are(all the way left, or right, or centered), The right tire will be where you want it, and the left tire will toe in real bad so that essentially its plowing dirt while backing up.
So what I'm saying is, there is slop in the steering box between the left and right tires.
while the tie rods arent great looking, I can verify that the other components are in acceptable condition.
I tried playing with the adjustment, which if anything made it harder to steer(probably too tight on the mesh) and took little if any slop out.
