No special "gears" are in the drive train in 5th, it is direct to the differential. A W6 Gear set (ring and pinion) could make it faster, but RPM is more likely. They get turned up for tractor pulling. It will live at 2100 RPM if good oil is used. Check it with a tach on the 540 PTO to see if it is running fast. (remember that the PTO speed is at engine load speed, not no load wide open) Jim
