AFAIK the heat on these cabs was never very good to begin with, so if you're getting any heat at all, you are ahead of the game.
First thing make sure the valves are open. If you trace the lines back to the engine there should be a valve somewhere on each line to cut off flow for summer.
Second thing is make sure coolant CAN flow. Close the valves, disconnect the lines and try to blow through them with a garden hose. Maybe your heater core is plugged?
As far as plumbing goes I am trying to remember how it's hooked up on the 1066...
