I'm about 45 miles from a salvage that probably has one. Hy Capacity is 50 miles away but I'd probably have to find a dealer. Jim, you know more about welding than I ever will but, respectfully, I have a fear of the welding chrystalizing the shaft and possibly having a catastrophe if it breaks. I will be loading big bales starting Wednesday and I don't trust it the way it is fixed now so some kind of a good fix will be happening soon.
There was a change made to the cylinder rod and ball joint that increased the diameter of the threaded area, holds up much better.
if you get a salvage yard cylinder keep in mind that there are two different bodies used depending on whether it's an original pin style anchor or the ball joint style. The difference is in the location of the pivot on the cylinder.
I would recommend against welding the cylinder because of the potential of breakage and losing the ability to reseal the cylinder if the left side seal decided to start leaking profusely.
