I had a similar problem with my 1928 regular. I believe it is caused by rusting between lining and backing plate making it thicker and taking away free travel. You can either get the lining replaced or do what I did and take one set of disks out. I have done light pulling with it and have not noticed slipping, but I do not know if it will slip with a heaver load. Mark
