I agree with red oxide primer, I blasted my H and ground off and wire-brushed off rust / grease / old paint / etc. I tried Van Sickle red IH spray cans, went on perfect, but it developed a white film just sitting inside the barn. Very objectionable. Went to Case - IH dealer, got a 6-pack of spray cans of Iron=Gard B-17566-N gloss red [so all the colors matched, from the same batch] and am very happy with it. Perfect color, no white film.
