Disregard my earlier response as I reviewed the on-line CaseIH part catalog and it appears both the gas and diesel models have their batteries located behind the seat. The part catalog shows the gas models having 6 volt batteries and the diesel models having 12 volt batteries. I believe I became confused with my Farmall 240 which has the battery in front of the seat. The on-line parts catalog is somewhat confusing as it also has the 330 International utility tractor mixed in along with the 340's which shows the 330 6 volt battery located in front of the seat. Since your thread was related to voltage only I think we have that correct unless your tractor was later converted to 12 volt through some farmer engineering, Hal.
