chore tractor? Found one parked that looks solid and

unabused. should i get it?

Cons:

IMHO, steering IS a weak point. Mine has the cable feedback for the 3 point and it is touchy... move the lever 1/2" and the hitch doesn't move, move it another 1/2" and the hitch moves too far... can't just meter it up or down a little at a time. Mine had the factory 3 point which is basically a modified Fast Hitch and it has a special very short top link... don't expect to use a post hole digger with it, won't work. also don't like the fact a tractor built in 1958 does not have independent or live PTO.

Pros:

Engine is a proven C-123 and the transmission is about bullet proof for that size tractor. Has live hydraulics which is good.

Over all, not a bad tractor, but there are better ones out there if you can find them. I had a 1955 Super 55 Oliver and should have kept it, but I wanted one with a loader and PS and I had experience with a Super C and thought the 240U would be okay.

BTW without a loader, the steering may be okay.
