You got it Pete! That's the clutch housing. Meant to be dry. Heyseed, by the look of your machine it has not got the additional speed amplifier fitted to the front of the transmission.? If you are certain that it is indeed transmission oil leaking, It should be a fairly straight forward replacement of the input shaft seal on the transmission. Yes, the tractor has to be split, but they are quite simple to work on and the seals are a standard size. I did my 434 a couple of years ago on my own. All the best with it, they are a good little tractor. Rx
