The manufacturer of the unit will usually recommend a filter in the literature that comes with the unit. I have worked on many performance vehicles in the past...including Indy cars. If you look at the filter parts books, you will see that there are only about four thread sizes that the filter screws onto..When you buy the adapter, figure out what yours is, and then get the biggest canister that will fit in the alloted space. A bigger fiter means more oil = better oil life, lower oil temp, and therfore, better lubrication. geo
