This is one of those situations that, like they say, falls between the cracks. Since it was a service replacement carburetor for a 460 there was no service manual printed with specs for it to my knowledge. Then, as the engine is the same on a 606 as a 460 the reference for repairs goes to the 460 manual, so one working on them is just plain left hanging. I'm not 100 percent sure there is no IH manual covering the carburetor, but in all my years of being the guy who filed all of the service bulletins and manuals during that period of time I have no recollection of any. I would put the accelerator pump in the middle position and go from there.
