most likely not as different engines. have you checked your oil pressure with a master gauge?, first priority. low oil pressure can be from all worn engine brgs. cams brgs, rod brgs, mains. you need to plastiguage the rods and mains. if you are getting readings over up in the .004-.006 and up you definitely have wear issues. even the oil pump can be worn. crank needs to be checked for out of roundness too. also rods checked for the same, may need resizing. all depends what you are doing with the tractor as they will run forever also even if the oil pressure is not top notch. but have to know what psi you have in the engine. just throwing rod brgs at it wont make much difference.

Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
