Hi, I believe it is an A-21 because the PTO shaft and belt drive pulley are on the left side from the rear but has mounting hardware for a H. The reason it is called an A-21 and the PTO drive is on the left is to line up with the offset PTO on IH A and B tractor models. There was also a C-21 for C and SC tractors but PTO drive was in the center of the mower to match PTO shaft on C and SC tractors. We had a C-21 and later 3pt C-28 model mowers. C-28 was also available with fast hitch.

In the photo, it is identified as C-21 but I believe again it is an A-21 because of offset PTO drive.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
