"Same" is thrown around pretty loosely. Interchangeability is a lot looser idea than "same". Like an A versus a Super A. A lot of people say they are the same except the Super A has hydraulics. You start looking at the details and you find about1/3 the same and 2/3 interchangeable.

When you start looking at the C-123 engines, there is a big dividing line when they started building 140 and 240 tractors. A lot of stuff changed then. You can't even interchange the whole engine without complications.
