Pete, the problem is probably the rubber cups inside the "master cylinder" for the brake that does not function. This master cylinder is located behind the cover that surrounds the lower portion of the instrument panel and near the steering valve. Notice that there are two of these cylinders. You may be able to clean up the cylinder and buy only the cups at a NAPA store. I sometimes use a wheel cylinder cup and punch a hole in the center of the cup as required for a master cylinder fit.
