If the 340 is equipped with what IH called a high speed first and reverse with a 55 tooth sliding gear the 300, 330 and 350 first gears work. If the 340 has the standard first the 300 and 350 gears won't work. Unless you change the top and bottom gear and the reverse idler from a 300, 330 or 350. Will make the ground speed a little faster in first and reverse. Some 504 have the low first speed that works. Can't think of another. 460 utility has one slower than a 350 but don't remember if its the same tooth count as the 340 standard first. Thinking they were just a little higher ratio.
