Pretty much every old sickle you buy is going to do a better job if you, at a minimum, change out the sections. I just replace the entire knife because of the time involved and I don't know how many cuts are in the old one. Welds? Once again, unless you buy new there are going to be repairs. We just had to weld the ladder support on a 1660 combine last year, not like it is ancient or overused. I guess I don't get your point again. Are you saying you want one with a new knife in it and ready to go? The one I have is. Or give Gordo a yell. What, are you mad at me because I picked up a few cheaper than you can find them? You need to stop going to the same auction every week and start shopping some smaller sales. OR....if mowers are just pricey in your area, lay down your cash and stop complaining.
