Dead H Do you have a magneto or distributer on the engine? If it is a mag, you do not want to supply any voltage to the terminal on the side of the case. That terminal is used to ground the mag to turn the engine off. Wire from mag terminal to a switch, then wire from switch to chassis. I thought I read on your complaint that the engine backfired, so timing could be part of your problem. If you have a mag, you will find a pair of small gears under a cover under the rotor held with screws. These gears are made from a fiberous material that will wear out and are replaceable. Timing procedure required here.email me
