Yes, you either need one-way spool valves, or you need to plumb the second work port from the valve back into the reservoir.
If you just leave the second port capped off you will be deadheading the system when lowering the loader. That will cause the oil to flow through the relief valve. Lowering will be slow and the oil will quickly get hot.
Use separate spool valves for each function and eliminate the splitter valve. Plumb the 3pt up with down pressure.

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe.
