I was a coolant engineer for a major HD diesel engine/tractor OEM. The best coolant for your tractor is a traditional type coolant. This would have additives to protect your system far superior to what was available when the tractor was new. And also it won't cause harm to the system. Most newer extended life coolants that claim 5+ years of service should be avoided in these systems. The seals and gaskets are not compatible and leaks will occur.
As for pre-mix vs concentrate. Personally, I like concentrate for many of the cost reasons listed here. I also like the ability to adjust my freeze point by adding more if i cannot get all the water out of a system after a flush.
Pre-mix coolants were intended as a convenience and as a benefit to cooling system life. Many users wouldn't spend the $0.50/gallon to buy distilled water to mix with the concentrate. They would use well water or whatever was readily available. This caused service issues typically resulting in warranty claims and unhappy customers.
