I've never heard of a problem from an engine being TOO clean. Scrub it out with Brake-Clean, soap & water and rinse,then rub the machined surfaces down vigorously with clean white lint-free cloths until they stay clean. This is the info I've read in all engine manuals. I've only rebuilt a couple engines but used this procedure on them with good results.
