I have hauled a couple wide front H's from extreme western IL to north central Ohio with my Dodge Ram 318, and wouldn't hesitate to haul an M. Maybe you need to have a discussion with your Dodge dealer. Topics could be the shortcomings of your truck, or even your driving habits. My 1999 has about 10,000 mil;es on it with the trailer attached with no problems at all. This has been much happier than my experience with the !@@#$% Ford it replaced.
