FB - Phe points should just beginning to open (riding upward on the cam) with rotor pointing at #1 tower in the dist cap and the crank at TDC (#1 cyl on compression) Quick way to do this is to stick the distributor in place and set 1/8 turn or so ahead of TDC (housing rotated CW from TDC). Don't clamp it down yet. Hook up the primary wire so it receives ignition current. Now turn on the ignition switch and using a small mirror to watch the ammeter, slowly turn the distributor housing CCW until you find the point where the ammeter returns to 0. This will put the timing at TDC. ...Bob M
