It is a tough job indeed. I succeeded in removing both on my '48 Super A. Plenty of penetrating oil and patience are required. After removing the tie rods I put most of the effort in TWISTING the axle. Use the knuckle as a lever and lengthen it with a beam or long pipe as necessary. Once it turns, keep twisting it to and fro while exerting an axial force on it. It will come out finally. A good torch might help a lot in the process. I must admit mine were moved at some time, between 1948 and 1998... ;) Good luck, Hendrik
